Moving within Space...
For this article, I will assume that you have successfully entered Sub-Space with your submissive and are now at the point where you would like to deepen that space or move your submissive within Space.
It is my suggestion that you practice Sub-Space techniques first without deploying other sensory stimulation. This will allow you to get a feel for what is happening within your submissive's mind in its simplest form, or without the complexities of physical stimulation to complicate responses.
Use the SAME relaxation techniques described in the article titled 'How to Access Sub-Space' and make your submissive feel as comfortable and safe as possible. Your submissive should know what you are both doing and can and should be fully informed as to what they might expect or feel during the exercise. This will alleviate fear and anxiety and narrow your submissive's attention to directly focusing on the exercise or experience itself. Once your submissive is comfortable, you may discover that they may launch 'into' space rather quickly. Often, especially if an experience is relatively pleasant (which Space is), the individual will learn where that place is in their mind, and the more often they are within that Space, the easier and faster it will be for them to find that Space. Once within Space, the submissive will coast along and wait. They will be focusing on some slight sound, perhaps your heartbeat, and essentially drifting. They are waiting for a command. From you!
How do you move within Space? Where do you want to go? and...Why?
When your submissive is in 'Marginally Down Space' or at the first level below normal or top space, they will still be able to verbally articulate and think fairly well. The first exercise that you need to practice with them is what I call auto-up. This is to train them that, on hearing certain words, they will instantly respond by reaching up through space to the top space. There are many words or commands that you can use as auto-up commands. However, it is my opinion that you should select a Command that they would never normally hear. This is based on the same idea that a safeword construction is based on. If you use something they might normally hear, then they might misunderstand, become confused, or respond at the wrong time. Remember that a submissive in deep Space will have limited rationalization abilities and will be responding directly to command, not thinking or evaluating what they think a command might mean. For this reason, I suggest that you create a Command that is unique or unusual - one that can never be questioned. I have had success with simple sentences such as "What color is your BIG toe?" The submissive will process this odd question...no one ever asks the color of a toe. Their response is..."My big toe is green
Practicing this escape technique before you venture further is, in my opinion, quite important. It allows both the Dominant and the submissive to feel an extra measure of safety when venturing deeper. This is quite similar to escape techniques commonly practiced in hypnosis, and I do recommend that those interested should do some further research on hypnosis as part of their overall exploration of Sub-Space.
When you are comfortable with using this escape technique and your submissive knows and fully understands the absolute imperative of obeying this Command whenever they hear it. Then you are ready to explore Space further. Both of you need to remember that this Command is for emergencies only! It is designed to return your submissive to Top-Space fast. You should never use this Command when there is no serious reason for doing so. Wrenching a submissive from one mental state to another quickly is a painful process, and a submissive re-Topping from deep Space will often have troubles which require significant After-Care well beyond the range of what is relatively normal.
Movement within space is relatively simple. When your submissive is comfortable being within space, you need to direct them using simple (often single-word) Commands. I tend to use the term down - this tells the submissive to move downward, deeper into space. I often continue a monologue conversation, which may occasionally require the submissive to answer me. These answers are important. As a submissive moves deeper into Space, their speech center in their brain is often one of the best indications to me of 'where' in Space that submissive is. Their voice will frequently change in timbre and cadence. Often, they will sound like a completely different person. (In 'Sprite Space', a female submissives voice will often become higher-pitched and naughty) As they move deeper, their speech will often slow down, and their voice may take on an emotionless or flat sound.
A submissive within 'Sprite Space' may become physically active, squirming, chattering, evading, teasing, and playing. Inside that submissive is watching carefully, evaluating if their Dominant is 'in control' (from their perspective)...sometimes they are evaluating simply if their Dominant is paying attention.
The same techniques work through exploration of all levels of space. By keeping it simple, you are creating Commands which are easy for you to remember and use. By taking your submissive in and out of Space 'outside of the scene' you allow them to get comfortable with the process. Please keep in mind that many things contribute to how far or fast a submissive may venture in Space. Some submissives have natural aptitudes that allow them to explore Space deeply and quickly, while other submissives may have inhibitors that prevent them from exploring or make those explorations quite slow. These inhibitors will often be events in that submissive’s past that many submissives have no memory of. Penetration of Space brings that submissive close or near to those hidden memories, which can cause huge levels of fear. There are other things which may limit a submissives range. One of the most prominent is simply how open to the concept of Space that the submissive is. If the submissive really doesn't believe or 'get it,' then they will have trouble accessing Space.
Where do you want to go in Space? Essentially, you want to grasp the mind of your submissive firmly within your own energy stream. Mental Domination. Positive Direct Control.
Why? The deeper the Space, the higher the Flight, the further the submissive can go. When you combine Space with sensory stimulation, the brain processes the information differently. Physical stimulation will often trigger Space on its own. The first time that a submissive 'feels' both at the same time, they are never again the same. This is the pinnacle. This is the place where the endorphins propel the submissive through space toward transcendence. This is the place where the submissive feels inside of their Dominant with the universe expanding and contracting in millions of fractal images, sounds, and sensations. You might say from a Dominant's perspective that this is the ultimate control experience. When a submissive can space deeply on command, the range of potential expands infinitely.
Q & A
Can I be hypnotized to make me 'more' submissive?
No! Space can help to 'reveal' what is already there inside of you. It cannot make you into anything you aren't. It can put you in touch with your inner self and help you shed things that have negative effects on your life!
Can I be forced to do things I don't want to do when I am in Space?
Yes and No! Your fundamental or hard limits will remain, and attempts to violate them will force you to re-Top. However, you will become suggestible to your Dominant and may 'agree' to do things (which are soft limits) that you have not agreed to in Top-Space. Your instinct will be to trust your Dominant totally. It is important to place that trust wisely before you engage in scening. When you re-Top after such an episode, you will be terribly angry and may feel a host of other things, such as shame, embarrassment, fear, self loathing. You will also feel disrespect for the Dominant who does this to you!!!
Can I hurt my submissive by taking them into Space?
No! Space is a natural place inside the mind. Humans normally enter space. But, unless they are attuned to it, they seldom recognize it for what it is. Dominants enter variations of Space during scenes and at other times of stress, excitement, or crisis. This Space will often appear similar to Sub-Space in its level of apparent emotional detachment. However, the focus of the Dominant-Space is on acute reality or in the exact opposite direction of the Sub-Space. It is, however, a clarifying of the mind, which again is quite similar to Sub-Space.
